Hawzah News Agency- Having won five gold medals, Iranian students topped the 17th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), held from August 17 to 27 in Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The five-member team in the Olympiad comprised Hannaneh Khorramdashti, Arvin Rasoulzadeh, Mohammad Mehdi Keshavarzi, Arya FatehKerdari, and Ali Naderi-Lordjani.
The event saw the participation of over 250 students from 57 countries.
In this regard, President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote a congratulatory message on the social media platform X, “I congratulate the scientific community and all the people of Iran on winning the gold medal by five Iranian stars in the 17the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics. Congratulations to my children, Hannaneh Khorramdashti, Arya Fateh-Kerdari, Arvin Rasoulzadeh, Mohammad Mehdi Keshavarzi, and Ali Naderi-Lordjani. You brought honor to Iran. We are proud of you."
